Materials Manager

Description: Coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies; review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized list; conduct studies to effect cost reductions; plan and evaluate new projects, consulting with engineers and managers as necessary; prepare proposals and budgets, analyze labor costs, and write reports; monitor how materials perform and evaluate how they deteriorate; determine causes of product failure and develop ways of overcoming such failure; evaluate technical specifications and economic factors relating to the design of manufacturing processes; identify factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials, and labor; collaborate with engineers, clients, and suppliers; calculate, analyze, and adjust estimates; recommend ways to cut costs; work with sales teams to prepare, review, and approve estimates and bids for clients; maintain records of estimated and actual costs; manage the daily Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory Control operations; provide directions with respect to shipping, receiving, and Inventory Control; manage the Production Plan to ensure customer service; input production work orders, provide production level information, and maintain the labor files to identify labor requirements; manage Engineering Change authorizations and assist in the change process to ensure delivery of specified equipment; manage the Cycle Count Program and assist the Inventory Control Analyst as needed in a multi plant environment; generate and analyze Negative Inventory Report, MRP II Inventory Planning, Audit Work Orders, Cycle Count/Investigation, Physical Inventory Program, and BOM Initial Set Up; prepare a monthly adjustment report that identifies all inventory adjustments; participate in annual bank inventory and cycle count audits; provide Inventory Control direction to other company production facilities; and coordinate and participate in Inventory Control, Quality Control, Planning, and Engineering Change projects. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely-related field; two years of relevant experience; skills reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures; experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; experience presenting information and responding to questions from customers and managers; skills solving problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; and computer literacy in a manufacturing and machine control environment required. Salary ranging $87,110.00/yr. to $95,000.00/yr.
